THE HILDUR STORY
Hildur Functional foods Pvt Ltd is above all an ultimate manifestation of a long lasting friendship between two scientists, Dr. Baboo M. Nair from India and Dr. Rickard Öste from Sweden. They met each other in a doctorate student’s cabin of the Department of Applied nutrition of Lund University, Sweden sometime in the year 1972. Their friendship remained intact ever since through common research projects, common scientific publications, network building and social interaction.


Dr. Rickard Öste became a highly acclaimed superstar entrepreneur who founded the well-known multibillion dollar Swedish food company Oatly ab. He is also a professor of food chemistry at Lund University Sweden and a Fellow of the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry. Dr. Baboo M. Nair started working at Lund University as a research engineer in 1969 and became a teacher, researcher, associate professor and finally a Professor in Applied Nutrition at Lund University, Sweden before becoming the CEO of the company Hildur Functional Foods Pvt Ltd which was registered by him in india. The decision to register a company in India to design, develop, manufacture and market premium value added food products must have originated in some of their conversations during the many years. Hildur is the name of a princess in the Nordic mythology who had the power to bring the dead soldiers in the battle field back to new life. The name of our company is also Hildur. We choose this name because we design and develop health promoting food products for the people.
